The result was announced in Eilat Israel on December 13, 2021 – Harnaaz Sandhu from Punjab, India is Miss Universe 2021.
The 21-year-old girl, Harnaaz Sandhu from India participated in the 70th Miss Universe 2021 contest and represented India. The crown is entrusted to Harnaaz Sandhu by Andrea Meza-Miss Universe 2020 from Mexico. The first and second runner up of the contest were Nadia Ferreira of Paraguay and Lalela Mswane of South Africa for the title.

Earlier in 2000 the Lara Dutta from India represented and won the Miss Universe prefix and after 21 years this is revised by Harnaaz Sandhu.
Harnaaz Sandhu represented with honor even her speech was flawless, she mentioned – “I believed in myself, and that’s why I’m standing here today,“.
She also said today’s youth are in trouble with the issue of comparison with others and forget their self-uniqueness present in them. Speak for yourself because you are leading your life and no one else can. Don’t compare yourself with others and find yourself contributing to today’s world.

The completion of Miss Universe is hosted by Steve Harvey, who pointed at Sandhu and asked her that “I hear you do some pretty good animal impersonations, let’s hear your best one.” Later she was criticized by Harvey for setting aside with suggested many inappropriate questions. And Sandhu replied surprisingly – “Oh my god, Steve, I was not expecting to do this on the world stage. I have to do this, I have no other option. Brace yourselves, everyone,” sooner professed some meows.
In a session Question and Answer session done for the top 5, she impressed everyone by saying that “My heart breaks to see how nature is going through a lot of problems, and it is all due to our irresponsible behavior. I totally feel that this is the time to take action and talk less. Because each action could save or kill nature. Prevent and protect is better than repent and repair and this is what I am trying to convince you guys today.“
Celebration of Winning Miss Universe 2021
After the announcement, she celebrated the Miss Universe 2021 crown and shouted to the camera “Chak de Phatte India” which is a Punjabi exclamation that similar means to “Let’s do this India”.
