Momos are absolutely mouth-watering dish & you can’t stop your self when you even talk about it. It is available in many varieties & can cook with different tastes like steam, fried, tandoori etc. And yes, One of the most popular tastes from them is the Tandoori Momos, especially in India & its spice tastes with veggies are amazing. Today we’ll learn to cook the Tandoori Momos even if you don’t have tandoor with you and how you can give the tandoori flavors to it. First of all, note the ingredients you need to get for tandoori momos.

Ingredients

  • Chickpea flour – 2 tbsp
  • Refined flour – 1 cup (125 grams)
  • Garam Masala – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder -¼ tsp
  • Curd- ½ cup
  • Green chili – 2
  • Ginger baton – 1 inch
  • Chopped Green coriander – 1 to 2 tbsp
  • Carrot – 1 (½ cup)
  • Grated Cabbage – 2 cups
  • Chopped Capsicum – 1 (½ cup)
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp

Recipe for Tandoori Momos

Step 1

At the very 1st step, you need to prepare the dough. Take a bowl to make your dough and add 1 cup of refined flour & add ¼ teaspoon of salt in it. Now add ½ cup water in the small interval to make a soft dough. After kneading your soft dough, leave it on rest for around 20 minutes to set & cover it.

The next step is to make the stuffing, for that you need the grated vegetables. You can change the vegetables as per your taste. Now we will take the grated cabbage (2 cups) & carrot, & chopped green chillies in the bowl. Take a pan and preheat to alleviate, add 1 tbsp of oil, then grated ginger and chopped green chillies. Add all grated vegetables, add ½ teaspoon salt to it and sauté well. Now your stuffing is ready now.

Now, will prepare the momos shapes by stuffing them. But before that, you need to knead your dough at least for 20 minutes. Now divide in the small lumps and make a ball (peda) & use dry flour to coat your ball & now bell it in a very thin layer. Place it on your palm & add the stuffing on it. Now you need to seal it by lifting on your palm.

Step 4

To cook your momos, you need to steam it & for that, you can take vessel & add almost 2 cups of water and cover it to get a boil. Now take a bolter and grease with some oil, arrange stuffed momos in some gap & cover it to cook for at least 10 minutes.

Step 5

Prepare the marinating for momos, you need to take 2tbsp of chickpea flour & ½ cup of curd & mix them. Now add salt red chili powder, turmeric powder & coriander powder & mix it well. Now add your momos in the mixture and apply the coat on all momos proportionately.

Step 6(Major Step)

The final step of cooking, if you have tandoor or oven then you can bake this at 230 degrees centigrade for 10 minutes. And if not then not to worry, you can make it easier on your stove. Take the skewer & gather the momos on it, turn on the flame of your stove on medium flame. Cook over it by rotating the skewer until there are the black spots over them which means your Tandoori momos are cooked & lastly apply the butter over them.

Now your momos are ready to serve, you can eat them red chilli sauce and mayonnaise. You can set the plating by garnishing them with onion & coriander leaves. And enjoy the yummy tandoori momos with your family members or you may add as snacks for the starters for your get to gathers.
