It is just been years around the discovery of how Ayurveda came into being. Ayurveda was always a part of our daily lives but it was never discovered in the form of Ayurveda. The origin of Ayurveda is now being made crystal clear because people can understand the concept of Ayurveda as well as its origin.

History of Ayurveda

The Vedic era introduced yoga to us. Atharva Veda is the best source of knowledge to learn about the origin of Ayurveda. According to an ancient belief, Ayurveda is the concept of Hindu God ‘Brahma’. Ayurveda is supposed to be an eternal science which was created by Brahma. The evidence to this is mentioned in Mahabharata where Lord Vishnu is an incarnation of Brahma. The origin of Ayurveda belongs to approximately 5000 years ago. The early legends spent their whole life in discovering the concept of Ayurveda.

The word Ayurveda is a combination of two Sanskrit words, Ayur and Veda which means life and knowledge respectively.  Since ancient times Ayurveda played a prominent role in India as well as different countries like Thailand, Korea, Europe, etc. People started practicing yoga in a wider range.

The main concerns of Ayurveda are body and mind. Dosha is a fundamental concept of Ayurveda. It comprises of vata, pitta, and the kapha. They control the mental and psychological operations of the body. A person is supposed to be healthy if these doshas are in harmony. Later, Ayurveda texts like Charak Samhita, Sushrut Samhita, Ashtanga Hridayam Sangraha, etc. were discovered that accumulated available Ayurveda treatment in India.

You can be benefited by Ayurveda in many ways but Panchakarma Treatment in India is the best of all the Ayurvedic treatments in India. Most of the benefits of Ayurveda can be extracted from Panchakarma. The ‘Panch’, ‘Karmas’ (5 activities) that are performed here are as follows:

  1. Sneha Vasti – It deals with disorders like anxiety, constipation, and insomnia. All the toxins from the human body are removed. The benefits attached to it are as follows:
  • Eliminates all the impurities from the body.
  • It lowers the spinal pains and the problems attached to it like headaches, backache, etc.
  1. Vamanam – The main aim of Vamanam is to get rid of toxins from the respiratory tract and as well as eliminate the Kapha toxins.
  • Relaxes the chest by excretion of vitiated Kapha.
  • It is the most efficient treatment of asthma and skin related diseases.
  • It reduces the level of cholesterol in the body.
  1. Virechna – The primary aim of this Ayurveda treatment is to clear the lower pathways of the body.
  • It is good to deal with liver diseases, inflammations, jaundice, etc.

  1. Kashaya – It is an herbal tea used to cure minor illnesses and fever. It is being used since the ages of our forefathers and is very effective.
